Two Million Page Views!

I made my first blog post on December 19, 2013, and began to use site stats to record traffic in February 2014. About 3 years later, in January 2017, I passed 1,000,000 page views. Now, a year and a half later, I just passed 2,000,00 page view. (That equates to about 1.5 million visitors as the average visitor views about 1.3 pages.) To date, I have published over 800 posts. I do this work without pay, and my family income is entirely based on social security—thanks FDR—so I’m hardly rich. But I am privileged to share my thoughts in the hope that some might benefit from them.

I would like to thank my readers, many of whom have made insightful comments, and a few of whom I’ve come to know through email. Despite what they might say about writing for themselves, every writer also wants to be read. So again thanks to all who have viewed these pages.

  1. Wow. Congratulations old friend. You are as insightful as ever with a lifetime of a genuine curiosity about truth to share with a wide, wide world. Blessings. FDR forever. Diane

  2. Wow! I am extremely impressed! In all of 2017, I got only about 400,000 page views, and about 100,000 unique visitors — but the vast majority of these were “false hits”: robots and people looking for something else. Only about 5,000 visits lasted longer than five minutes. Far and away the most frequently hit page was a piece on Hammurabi’s Laws that was part of my analysis of the development of logical thinking. Inasmuch as neither the preceding page nor the succeeding page got many hits, it’s pretty clear that the hits for Hammurabi’s Laws were kids doing papers on that subject.

    Congratulations!
